Heritage Lacework and Balustrade on Australian Hotels varies in designs from one location to another
A design of lacework and balustrade in one area may be very different or unseen in other areas due to the manufacturing process originating from small localised foundries
The products manufactured by these foundries were used in an area close to the foundry with the exception of a few large foundries in Melbourne and South Australia
The National Hotel is a classic hotel with many years of history. Chatterton Lacework supplied the balustrade, being a Traditional Sunflower panel with a matching intermediate balustrade.The Lacework to compliment the balustrade was the ever popular clover key frieze, being fixed in between timber with the small clover design sitting underneath. are now made in aluminium due to the weight and corrosion issues

What a magnificent restoration of the Oxford Hotel 1886 in Inverell NSW. Chatterton Lacework has supplied the balustrade including the decorative Breadloaf handrail combined with the balustrade panels and the Heritage Horseshoe Lacework. This Lacework dates back as far as 1886.The balustrade was one of very few Heritage designs approved by heritage that complied with the Building regulations for balconies above four metres high.
