As a result of the simplicity of construction,standardised designs were produced through the 1920 and 1930 period..Despite these advantages, tastes changed and the style fell out of favour after the second world war.The need for cheaper homes first saw large verandahs reduced to small landings.Internal walls were made of fibreboards including asbestos and gypsum.Land was cleared with earthmoving equipment left over from the second world war,cheaper land was becoming available creating an environment suitable for the adoption of the modern American Style home.
